I am excited to find your blog. We are in the Willamette Valley of Oregon nestled up against the coast range. We have a small Icelandic flock of sheep and are fairly new to working with wool – a few years now. I am still getting in to a routine of processing my fleeces. I am interested in whether you are carding by hand and what you are using for carding. Your pictures looked much cleaner and nicer than my roving.
Mrs. Johnson: I am combing, using mini combs and large Viking combs. I haven’t tried carding the waste wool up yet, but that is something I plan to try this winter.
